Workshops for June and Early July at Florissant Fossil Beds

The Friends of the Florissant Fossil Beds are sponsoring two upcoming workshops about homesteading and the Flammulated owl. The first seminar on Saturday, June 18th will cover the historic ranches and sites of the Sanborn Western Camp just west of Florissant Fossil Beds. The next seminar occurs on the night of Friday, July 8th at the Manitou Experimental Forest to learn about the Flammulated owl. Both of these seminars are 8 hours long and are open to the general public. Teachers may receive credit through Adams State College and/or BOCES.  Directions:

To reach Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, travel 35 miles west on Highway 24 from Colorado Springs. At the town of Florissant, turn left onto Teller County Road # 1 and travel 2 miles to the Visitor Center entrance.
