Join us for a special Geminid Meteor Shower Night Sky Program Saturday, December 13, 2014 –6:00 - 8:00 PM.Do you like shooting stars? We do! Saturday will be the peak of the Geminid Meteor Shower, famous for having a modest number of shooting stars but a high percentage of extra-bright "fireball" meteors. We'll have plenty of targets for our telescopes, too –star clusters, galaxies, and more –but you might be too busy watching the whole sky for meteors! Meet at the Visitor Center.

The program will begin with a 20-30 minute interpretive talk in the Visitor Center. Then we will step outside for 90 minutes of stargazing with telescopes, binoculars, and laser-guided tours of the stars and constellations. Also, please note that the outdoor viewing is weather-dependent, and takes place only if the sky is clear. Indoor presentations take place no matter the weather, although the roads may be hazardous and you should call ahead for more information.

Please dress for winter weather in Colorado. Bring binoculars or a flashlight if you wish (red-filtered lights only please).

Admission for the program is the regular park entrance fee which is $3 per adult (16 years and older) children and federal pass holders are free. For additional information, please call (719) 748-3253 or visit our website at www.nps.gov/flfo
