Fees & Passes

Please begin your visit at the Education Center at 205 Market Avenue South. Guided tours leave from the Education Center at 10:00am, 12:00pm, and 2:00pm. Tours have a capacity of 12 people per tour. Tickets are on a first come first serve basis.

The tour does require standing for long periods and moving from room to room. The Saxton House is accessible for wheelchairs.

Active duty military, Access Passholders and children under the age of 2 are admitted free.

America the Beautiful Passes

Holders of the America the Beautiful Passes recieve a discounted rate on tours. Please note, the America the Beautiful Passes are not sold at First Ladies National Historic Site.

America the Beautiful Passes can be obtained at Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Brecksville, Ohio, or James A. Garfield National Historic Site in Mentor, Ohio. First Ladies National Historic Site does not sell these passes.

You can visit the USGS Online Store to purchase select passes and to order select passes. You can also purchase a pass at the first fee-charging site you encounter. Most passes can be purchased through a mail-in application, online or by calling (See notes for each card below).

These passes are valid for entry of up to four people in a single vehicle at all National Park Service fee sites. Additionally, the passes are also accepted at four other federal recreation agencies that have entrance fees, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation.

The pass series consists of the Annual Pass, the Senior Pass*, the Access Pass and the free Annual Pass for U.S. Military.

  • The Annual Pass is available to anyone over the age of 16. The cost is $80. NOTE: Can be purchased online or via telephone at 1-888-ASK-USGS (1-888-275-8747), Ext. 3, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm MST.
  • The Senior Pass is available to U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62 or older. The cost is $20 for an Annual Pass or $80 for a Lifetime Pass. All Pass purchasers must have documentation of age and residency or citizenship. If you purchase four $20 Annual Senior Passes, you can exchange the four cards for a Lifetime Senior Pass at no additional cost. The person purchasing the Annual Pass must have purchased the pass for themself and must be exchanging the four Passes for themself. The Passes are non-transferrable. NOTE: There will be an additional $10 application processing fee to order the card online* or via telephone at 1-888-ASK-USGS (1-888-275-8747), Ext. 3, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm MST.
  • The Access Pass is free to ALL U.S. citizens or permanent residents with a permanent disability (Applicants must provide documentation of permanent disability and residency or citizenship - Vehicle disability hang tags are not acceptable). NOTE: There will be a $10 application processing fee to order the card online or via telephone at 1-888-ASK-USGS (1-888-275-8747), Ext. 3, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm MST..
  • The Annual Pass for U.S. Military is free to all active duty military members and their dependents. Applicants must present a Common Access Card (CAC) or Military ID (Form 1173) to receive the pass. NOTE: This pass must be obtained in person, at a federal facility which offers it.
