Homestead Florida: The first Fairchild Tropical Garden and Everglades National Park En Plein Air Art and Photo Show is on display at the Coe Visitors Center for the month of March. The show is in partnership with Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden where art and photography students created works reflecting their experiences in Everglades National Park. The artists take watercolor, oil and photography classes through the lifelong learning classes offered at Fairchild. This is the first time artists have produced work in the park known as en plein air art. All of the artists wrote a description of the environment portrayed in their work, which are attached to their art in the show. There is a continuing partnership between Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and Everglades National Park to highlight the important contribution both Fairchild and Everglades make in helping to preserve the unique tropical environment of South Florida. Dan Kimball, Superintendent of Everglades National Park is pleased to host the first Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens En Plein Air Art Show: “I hope this is the first of many opportunities for Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and the park to cooperate on such wonderful educational and artistic programs. The art and photos in this show provide really interesting and unique personal perspectives on spotlighted images of the Everglades. I found it inspirational and know others will enjoy the beautiful art as well.” Directions: |
