HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Everglades National Park is thrilled to announce the continuation of our National Park Service’s Latino Heritage Internship Program (LHIP) for summer 2017! Applications for the program are due February 6, 2017, and can be found at Hispanicaccess.org/LHIP.
The National Park Service and Hispanic Access Foundation’s Latino Heritage Internship Program trains young people in the skills of cultural, historical, and natural resource management while raising awareness of our national parks and their need for the Latino community’s involvement. Specific assignments will be based on best fit with specific requirements of each National Park Service location.
Requirements follow:
- Age 18 to 35
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residence
- Be enrolled in a post-secondary educational program or have graduated from college within the past year
- Have a strong interest or relevant experience in park and recreation, education, physical science, biological science, archival or museum science, history, sociology, anthropology or other social sciences.
- Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish/English)
- Be Social Media savvy!!
WHAT: Everglades National Park is seeking a Cultural History Education Intern and an Archives Outreach Intern through the Latino Heritage Internship Program (LHIP) for the summer of 2017.
