Jacob Olivier

On August 30 rangers began looking for a 23 year old young man, Jacob Olivier, who is believed to have entered the park on August 24th. Though he has not been officially declared a missing person. Mr.Olivier's vehicle has been parked at Pine Glades Lake since August 24th and has not moved.

Mr. Olivier is a 23 year old white male and a resident of Texas, photo is attached. Park rangers have spoken to his family and learned that Jacob has no known friends or family in the area. The park has no information regarding how long Mr. Olivier intended to stay in the park and have initiated a search as a precaution.

A preliminary search was conducted yesterday (August 30) of roads and trails in the immediate area where the vehicle was located. A Miami-Dade Police Department helicopter assisted with the search Tuesday but had to leave the scene due to thunderstorms and intense rain in the search area. A more intensive search with ground (K-9 and trackers) and air resources is underway today, 8/31/11.

Anyone who believes they may have seen Mr. Olivier while visiting the park the past week or have other information to his whereabouts please contact the park dispatch at 305-242-7740.
