Everglades National Park Closes in Preparation for Hurricane Irma

HOMESTEAD, Fla - Effective at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, September 6th, Everglades National Park is closing the park in preparation for the landfall of Hurricane Irma. No back-country passes will be issued until further notice.  

 

Once a closure is in effect, it will remain in place until the National Park Service assesses storm damage, or the threat of Hurricane Irma has passed. Updates will be posted on the park’s website at nps.gov/ever.
