Everglades National Park is pleased to provide the public an opportunity to view Judd Patterson’s exhibit of photographs.  This exhibit runs from now, through September 30th, 2009 at the Coe Visitor’s Center, Main Entrance, Everglades National Park.

Patterson was born in Salina, KS, and began to seriously develop his interest in nature photography while in high school. He completed a Bachelor’s in Biology and Master’s in Geography from Kansas State University.

Judd currently works for the South Florida/Caribbean Network of the National Park Service. He continues to pursue nature photography to promote environmental education/conservation and for the sheer joy of being outside.

Judd’s photography has been used for a variety of regional and national causes including The Nature Conservancy publications, Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge education center, Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve visitor center, Kansas/Great Plains bird guides, 2009 State of the Birds report, and a Department of the Interior Museum exhibit in Washington DC.

Judd remains highly motivated to capture images of threatened species and habitats in order to play a role in ensuring their future.

The Ernest Coe Visitor Center is located 11 miles southwest of Homestead on State Road 9336 and also features award-winning natural history displays, an 18-minute film, and related book sales.  Center hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily; admission is free.  For information and directions call [phone].
