BUSHKILL, PA: Superintendent John J. Donahue announced today that park rangers from Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area are assisting New Jersey State Park Police with a search for a missing person. Amjed Hasan, 21, of Clifton, New Jersey, was last seen swimming in the Delaware River near the Douglas Trail parking area in Worthington State Forest on Old Mine Road in New Jersey just before 5:00 p.m.on Tuesday, August 13. He had been picnicking and swimming with family and friends. Search and Rescue teams searched until dark on Monday evening. The search resumed this morning and continued throughout the afternoon. Hasan is 5’6” and weighs between 120 and 140 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes and was last seen wearing white shorts with red trim. He was not wearing a lifejacket. The search team includes the NPS dive team and park rangers; New Jersey State Police, including the Marine and Air Support units; and New Jersey State Park Police. Knowlton Fire Department, Portland Hook and Ladder, and Hackettstown Regional Medical Center Emergency Medical Services also responded.
