Montague Association for Restoration of Community History (M.A.R.C.H.)

The Montagues Association for Restoration of Community History manages two historic properties in Montague, NJ. This organization strives to preserve historic cultural resources and educate the public about the unique history of the area.

At the Foster-Armstrong House, MARCH operates a museum filled with historic artifacts from the Montague area. The members work to create meaningful seasonal exhibits from donations made by residents of the area.

The Neldon-Roberts Stonehouse is a former home to many people and acted as a schoolhouse in the 1820s.

Throughout the summer MARCH regularly opens these buildings to the public, offering tours and lectures. A gift shop in the Foster-Armstrong House has handmade goods for sale. Visit their website or social media to learn how to get involved and find out about future events.

Walpack Historical Society

Walpack Center is a small town on the New Jersey side of the park. This small town is home to a general store, a few homes, a Methodist church, a schoolhouse, and more. Tours are offered, and there is a museum and store. The Military Trail connects Walpack Center and the Van Campen Inn on Old Mine Road.

The Van Campen Inn, considered a "yaugh" house during colonial times, travelers were offered shelter within the home.

the Walpack Historical Society hosts annual events typically beginning Memorial Day Weeekend and ending on Van Campen Inn Day in October. During these events, members interpret these sites for visitors.
