National Park Service Turns 97! Devils Tower National Monument Celebrates 97th Birthday of the National Park Service Devils Tower, WY: Devils Tower National Monument joins over 400 hundred other National Park Service sites in celebration of the 97th birthday of the National Park Service. "In recognition of the National Park Service's 97th birthday as "America's best idea" 400 individual national park units are illuminating their priceless value by waiving entrance fees."said Reed Robinson, superintendent of Devils Tower National Monument. There will be a special ranger-led walk around the base of Devils Tower offered on Sunday, August 25. Meet under the green awning near the visitor center at 9:00 AM. The National Park Service was established on August 25, 1916. The The mission of the National Park Service extends beyond parks into communities across the country where we work with partners to help preserve local history and create close-to-home recreational opportunities that revitalize neighborhoods and enhance the quality of life.
