Devils Tower National Monument Celebrating 110 Years and #National Public Lands Day!

President Theodore Roosevelt proclaimed Devils Tower as the nation's first national monument on September 24, 1906. Come and celebrate 110 years on Saturday, September 24, 2016 - which also coincides with the 23rd National Public Lands Day!

In celebration of this very special day a unique education program will launch. The Junior Climbing Ranger program offers youth an in-depth view of the history, ethics, demonstrations of rock climbing techniques, and reverence for Native Americans at Devils Tower. After the completion of a Junior Climbing Ranger booklet participants will be awarded a Junior Climbing Ranger badge.

Activities Offered For The Day:
  • 10:00 am and 2:00 pm - Junior Climbing Ranger Programs
  • 6:00 pm - Bats Living in the Tower (special presentation)
  • 6:50 pm - Bat listening walk on the Tower Trail. Rangers will have hand-held acoustic detectors.
All entrance fees to the Monument will be waived. All activities meet at the new climbing demonstration wall near the start of the Tower Trail.
