Roadside Trail

The Roadside Trail is a moderately strenuous walk of 1.8 miles (2.9 km), one hour one-way, from Denali Visitor Center via the Tiaga Trail to Park Headquarters and the Sled Dog Kennels, with 350 feet elevation change, up to 15 percent grade, on a 36-inch compacted gravel surface. Highlights include aspen, birch and spruce forests.

  • Approximate elevation gain: 400 feet total gain when traveling east to west.

Trail Access

The eastern trail head is accessible from the Denali Visitor Center or Murie Science and Learning Center, via the Taiga Trail. The western trail head is accessible from the Denali Headquarters and the Sled Dog Kennels.
