Prescribed Burn of Slash Piles Scheduled for March 25–April 8, 2024

Denali National Park and Preserve plans to conduct prescribed burning of slash piles in the vicinity mile 1–3 of the Denali Park Road between March 25, 2024, and April 8, 2024. Burning operations will take place within a specified and appropriate prescription window, monitored by Fire Management staff. Fire Management staff will check and monitor all piles until fully extinguished.

Smoke is likely to be present along the Denali Park Road and the Parks Highway. Please refrain from calling-in smoke reports unless visibility is creating a hazard for motorists. All local emergency response teams are aware of planned prescribed fire operations.
