Gunnison, CO: As of the morning of December 3, Elk Creek boat ramp is iced in, and therefore closed for the season. Other ramps on Blue Mesa Reservoir are not available due to low water levels.
Curecanti National Recreation Area rangers advise recreationists to be aware of changing ice conditions and to be sure to check ice thickness before venturing out. Snow cover, temperature changes, and water current can all affect ice conditions.
