Saint Marys, GA – Cumberland Island National Seashore will close Plum Orchard Dock for living shoreline work starting Tuesday, February 18, 2025. 

“This is a great project to protect the Plum historic district and critical marsh ecosystem” said Superintendent Trenchik. 

This work is planned in coordination with Georgia Department of Natural Resources and U.S. Army Corp of Engineers to ensure the utmost protection of our coastal, maritime resources. The closure is critical to maintain safety of visitors, workers, and the resources. Plum Orchard Mansion will remain open with visitation available via the main road and by Lands & Legacies Tours.
