The Loop Road is Open

The scenic seven-mile loop road at Craters of the Moon National Monument, located about halfway between Arco and Carey off of U.S. Highway 20/26/93, is clear of snow and open to automobile travel. The campground and trails, including all caves on the Caves Trail, are also open. Free cave permits are available at the visitor center.

Join us for ranger-guided cave walks (daily at 1 p.m. April 20-28) and short talks at the visitor center (daily at 3 p.m. April 20-28). In addition, all kids are invited to become a Junior Ranger by completing the fun activities in the free booklet available at the visitor center.
