Broken Top Hike: 9 a.m. Mon.-Thurs. – 1.8 miles, 2 hours
Hike over, under and around a volcano on this fascinating hike. Bring sturdy boots, water, a flashlight, and a cave permit. Meet at the Tree Molds parking lot.
Junior Ranger Walk: 9 a.m. Fri-Sun. - .5 mile - 45 min.
Explore our "weird and scenic landscape" while earning your Junior Ranger badge! This family-focused activity occurs on the fully accessible Devils Orchard Trail. Bring water and meet at the Devils Orchard trailhead.
Cave Walks: 1 & 4 p.m. Daily - 1 mile, 1.5 hours
Follow the trail through seas of ropy lava into the strange underground world of a lava tube. Wear sturdy shoe, bring a flashlight, and a cave permit. Meet at the Caves Area trailhead.
Patio Talks: 11 a.m., 2:30 p.m. & 4:30 p.m. Daily –15 minutes
Enjoy a short presentation about the natural or cultural history of Craters of the Moon. Check the visitor center for daily topics. Meet at the Visitor Center plaza.
Evening Stroll: 7 p.m. Nightly - .25 mile, 30 minutes
Join us in the cool evening hours for a short but steep walk from the campground to a panoramic view of the North Crater cender cone and the lava landscape that surrounds it. Meet at the Campground amphitheater.
Evening Program: June - July at 9:30 p.m., Aug. at 9 p.m., Sept. at 8:30 p.m. Nightly – 45 minutes
