As summer winds down please join us for a Ranger guided walk or special presentations and events:

Daily- Ranger guided Walks and Talks:

Climb a volcano, explore a lava tube or join us for an evening presentation in the campground. Our full schedule of walks and talks are offered daily through September 7. Look for a detailed schedule at:https://www.nps.gov/crmo/planyourvisit/events.htm

Daily- "Craters through the Seasons" Art Show: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.In the summer of 2010 Cindy Tower became Crater's first "Artist in Residence". Last February Shelley McCarl experienced a different side of Craters by painting the winter landscape View these artist's interpretations of the Craters of the Moon landscape through the seasons at a special exhibit in our Visitor Center Theater.

August 3 – Evening Hike: 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. Take advantage of cooler temperatures and softer light with this evening hike around and to the top of North Crater. This moderate 3 mile hike will involve some off-trail hiking and elevation gain. Hiking boots, snacks, and water are required. A hiking stick is also recommended. Reservations are available by calling 208-527-1335. Meet at the North Crater Trailhead.

August 3 - Fire Prevention Education Team: 8 p.m. Jr. Rangers / 9:00 p.m.

Members of the BLM Wildland Fire Prevention Education Team will provide special evening presentations this night including a Young Firefighter activity during the Junior Ranger program and the evening campground presentation.Meet in the campground amphitheater for both events.

August 25– National Park Service BirthdayHappy birthday to us! Celebrate the 97^th anniversary of the National Park Service with a visit to Idaho's largest national park unit. Entrance is free at all National Park Service sites on this day.

August 31- Sage-grouse Talk:9 p.m.

Join Idaho Department of Fish and Game biologist, Dave Musil for an entertaining and thought provoking presentation about the spectacular Sage-grouse. Find out why this bird species is being monitored closely at Craters of the Moon and throughout its range. Meet in the campground amphitheater.
