Crater Lake Superintendent Craig Ackerman has announced that Park entrance fees will remain unchanged for 2008. An increase in fees that had been under consideration has been cancelled for the immediate future. Ackerman said that even though additional money from the increase would have directly supported projects like the rehabilitation of the Rim Visitor Center, it is important to maintain access to the park for as many visitors and Oregon residents as possible. “Considering the present high cost of fuel and other economic conditions in the area, higher fees could have affected many families’ ability to visit the park” said Ackerman. “We want Crater Lake to continue to be a magnet for attracting visitors to the southern Oregon region.” Entrance fees to the park for summer 2008 are as follows:

  • Standard Entrance Fee: $10.00 per vehicle (good for unlimited entries over a seven day period)
  • Motorcycle, Bicycle or Walk-in: $5.00 pp ( good for unlimited entries over a seven day period)
  • Crater Lake Annual Pass: $20.00 (good for vehicle entry to both Crater Lake National Park and Lava Beds, for one full year from the date of purchase)
  • “America the Beautiful- The National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands Annual Pass”: $80.00 (Good for one full year from date of purchase. This pass replaces both the National Parks Annual Pass and Golden Eagle Pass)
  • “America the Beautiful –The National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands Senior Pass”: $10.00 (existing Golden Age passes are still valid for life)
  • Lost Creek Campsite Fees: $10.00 per site per night

Visitors considering more than one trip in a year to either Crater Lake National Park or Lava Beds National Monument should consider purchasing the Annual Pass at $20.00 for access to both Parks as an exceptional value.
