Crater Lake Superintendent Craig Ackerman has announced that Park entrance fees will remain unchanged for 2008. An increase in fees that had been under consideration has been cancelled for the immediate future. Ackerman said that even though additional money from the increase would have directly supported projects like the rehabilitation of the Rim Visitor Center, it is important to maintain access to the park for as many visitors and Oregon residents as possible. “Considering the present high cost of fuel and other economic conditions in the area, higher fees could have affected many families’ ability to visit the park” said Ackerman. “We want Crater Lake to continue to be a magnet for attracting visitors to the southern Oregon region.” Entrance fees to the park for summer 2008 are as follows:
Visitors considering more than one trip in a year to either Crater Lake National Park or Lava Beds National Monument should consider purchasing the Annual Pass at $20.00 for access to both Parks as an exceptional value. Educational groups may be also eligible for fee waivers (please contact Amelia Bruno at (541) 594-3058.For additional information about visitation options in the Park please visit our website (www.nps.gov/crla) or call the Visitors Center at (541) 594-3100. |
