August 21, 2024 NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC Beginning on Thursday August 22, 2024, from 6:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., local time, the southeast portion of Coronado National Memorial will be closed to all visitor access and use. A map illustrating the closed park area is attached. This closure will also affect one of the Park’s designated First Amendment areas; the designated First Amendment area within the closure area will be relocated to the Park’s Visitor Center parking lot on Montezuma Canyon Road and will be accessible from the western entrance to the park. This relocation will allow for permitted and unpermitted demonstration activities in accordance with 36 C.F.R. § 2.51 and 36 C.F.R. § 2.52. This temporary relocation is in effect only for the length of the closure on Thursday August 22, 2024. The southeastern area of the park will be temporarily closed for a special event and for security purposes related to a campaign visit. Persons demonstrating or otherwise in the southeast portion of the park area should remove themselves and any personal property by 6:00 a.m. Thursday August 22, 2024.
