Colorado National Monument is offering two special programs.

  • Friday, July 13, 2018 - Find Your Park After Dark!
Come and view the night sky through the Western Colorado Astronomy Club (WCAC) member’s large telescopes at Colorado National Monument Saddlehorn Picnic Area. Meet in the picnic parking lot just after sunset. The viewing will start at dusk, weather permitting. WCAC members will help guests view planets, galaxies, star forming nebulae and clusters.
  • Friday, August 10, 2018 – The Chance Ensemble Presents John Muir: University of the Wilderness.
Enjoy an evening narrated concert exploring the thoughts of preservationist John Muir. The musical score, described as a place where Celtic, contemporary and classical music beautifully collide, is blended with John Muir’s words to bring his experiences to life. This unique program will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Saddlehorn Picnic Area.

Both programs are free, however, regular entrance fees apply. No reservations needed.

Summer hours are now in effect at Colorado National Monument. The visitor center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. For additional information please visit www.nps.gov/colm or call 970-858-3617, ext. 360.
