Fruita, CO – Beginning April 1, 2024, Colorado National Monument will update its Saddlehorn Campground reservation system to improve reservation flexibility and increase first-come, first-served opportunities. All campsites, including same-day sites, will be reservable on www.recreation.gov during three separate reservation windows: six months in advance, two weeks in advance, and on the same day. This system will allow more visitors on spontaneous trips to make two-week-out reservations and will help same-day visitors plan their camping experience before they enter the park. Colorado National Monument will also expand first-come, first-served campsites into A Loop for the 2024 season. With this new system, same-day sites will be released at 8 a.m. Mountain Time daily on www.recreation.gov. Visitors will be able to see site availability in real time on their computer or smartphone. For those without an internet connection, reservations may be secured by calling 877-444-6777. Previously, first-come, first-served sites were only reservable in-person at the campground kiosk. After April 1, sites will no longer be reservable at the campground kiosk.
The Colorado National Monument Visitor Center, which offers free Wi-Fi, is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. There is a $25 entrance fee to visit the park. All Interagency America the Beautiful passes are honored.
