IntroductionChiricahua National Monument, Coronado National Memorial, and Fort Bowie National Historic Site are managed under the Southeast Arizona (SEAZ) Group within the National Park Service (NPS). While the enabling legislation and the resources for each may vary, private and commercial activities that occur on these public lands are managed in the same way.Such activities are allowed when they are consistent with the mission of the SEAZ Group and if they will not harm the resource or interfere with the visitor experience. We are mandated to recover costs to the US government for the management of the permit programs. Application fees are required for all permits except those issued for First Amendment activities. Costs for any necessary activity monitoring or resource restoration would be the responsibility of the permittee. Questions about the different types of permits and whether your activity needs one? Contact the SEAZ Group Permit Coordinator at (520) 824-3560 x9201. Commercial Use AuthorizationsCommercial Use Authorizations (CUAs) are 2-year authorizations granted to commercial operators for activities the SEAZ Leadership Team has determined to be appropriate for these sites. Currently, CUAs are issued for the following guided tours: hiking, biking, horseback riding, and motorized vehicle (auto/van/bus). CUAs are also issued for photography instruction. The non-refundable application fee for a CUA is $300. There are also insurance and licensing requirements. Please see the Commercial Use Authorization Application Form for more information.
