Campgrounds at a Glance

Camping is a great way to immerse yourself in the stunning scenery of Chickasaw National Recreation Area. Six campgrounds spread throughout the park offer a variety of options for both tent and RV camping.

In 2025, Buckhorn Campground Loops A & B and Rock Creek Campground will only be open on holiday weekends. The campgrounds will open the first Wednesday before the holiday and close the first Wednesday following.

  • May 21- May 28 (Memorial Day May 26)
  • July 2- July 9 (Independence Day July 4)
  • August 27 - September 3 (Labor Day September 1)

Camping Fees

All campgrounds accept debit and credit cards only. Cash is not accepted.

  • Non-utility sites (up to 8 people maximum) $20/night
  • Utility sites (up to 8 people maximum) $30/night
  • Small group sites (no utilities, up to 10 people maximum) $30/night
  • Large group sites (no utilities, up to 30 people maximum) $50/night

Check-out time for all sites is no later than 12 noon on the day of departure.

Reservations can be made at www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777 (TDD 1-877-833-6777).

Self-pay stations are available at the entrance to first-come-first-serve campgrounds. These machines only accept credit or debit cards. Cash cannot be accepted.

ATTENTION: If you will be renting an RV or camper and having it delivered to Chickasaw National Recreation Area, it is your responsibility to make sure that the individual or business you are renting from has a valid permit to do business in the park. Renting from an individual or business that does not have a permit may leave you without accommodations as the RV or camper may be turned away upon delivery.

 

Buckhorn Campground

Buckhorn Campground is located on the eastern side of Lake of the Arbuckles. It has four loops, A, B, C, and D.

Loop A is open seasonally. It has 21 campsites including 1 accessible site; all of these sites are first come, first served. Modern restrooms and showers are available to campers in this campground.

Loop B is open seasonally. It has 26 campsites including 1 accessible site; all sites in this loop are first come, first served. Modern restrooms and showers are available to campers in this campground.

Loop C is open year-round. It has 43 campsites including two accessible sites. All sites are available by reservation only. Modern restrooms and showers are available to campers in this campground. There are 17 electrical sites (30 amp). Sites with electrical hookups also have water hookups. There are no sewer hookups in the campground. A dump station can be found on Buckhorn Road outside of the campground.

Loop D is open year-round. It has 51 campsites including 3 accessible sites. All sites are first come, first served. Modern restrooms and showers are available to campers in this campground. There are 24 electrical sites (30 amp). Sites with electrical hookup also have water hookups. There are no sewer hook ups in the campground. A dump station can be found on Buckhorn Road outside of the campground.

The Point Campground

The Point Campground is located on the northern side of Lake of the Arbuckles. It is open year-round and has two loops.

The lower loop includes 9 electrical and 28 tent sites. Three sites in the lower loop are accessible (no hookups). Campsites in the lower loop are first come, first served. Showers are available in the restrooms.

All sites on the upper loop are available by reservation only. There are 12 electrical sites (50 and 30 amp) and 9 non-electrical camping sites, including 2 accessible sites (with hookups). Electrical sites also have water hookups. There are no sewer hookups available in the campground. A dump station can be found on the road down to the campground. Showers are available in the Lower Loop restrooms.

Rock Creek Campground

Rock Creek Campground is open seasonally. It has 99 campsites and 1 large group site. The group site is available by reservation only; all other sites are first come, first served. All sites are non-electric. Some sites can accommodate small RVs (25' or less). A dump station is located outside of the campground, near Bromide Pavilion.

Cold Springs Campground

Cold Springs Campground is open year-round. It has 63 campsites, 1 small group site, and 1 large group site. All sites are available by reservation only. All sites are non-electrical and are best for tent camping, though small RVs and pop-up campers (less than 20') may fit.

Central Campground

Central Campground is open seasonally. There are nine large group sites and one small group site that are available by reservation only. Non-group sites are available at nearby Cold Springs Campground.

Guy Sandy Campground

Guy Sandy Campground is currently closed. There is no scheduled reopening date at this time.
