![]() NPS/Natasha Moore Chickasaw National Recreation Area has six public campgrounds. Facilities vary in each and are listed in the chart below. Some individual campsites, as well as large group campsites, can be reserved in advance. Each site has a fire ring, picnic table, and at least one parking space. Reservations can be made at www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777 (TDD 1-877-833-6777). Group sizeCapacity at most sites is limited to eight or fewer people. Larger groups can camp only in designated group camping sites. Group campsite capacity is limited to thirty people. Groups in excess of thirty people will need more than one group site. Group sites are only available by reservation. Rock Creek Campground features one group site, located near the campground entrance. Cold Springs Campground has two adjacent group sites near the front of the campground. Finally, all ten sites of the Central Campground are group sites. Each has picnic tables, a fire ring, nearby water spigots, and parking for several vehicles. Central and Cold Springs group campsites are open during the summer season; only the Rock Creek group campsite is open year-round. Campgrounds at a GlanceThe winter campground season typically runs from early October to early May, with only the year-round campgrounds remaining open during this time.
Buckhorn CampgroundThe Buckhorn Campground is located on the eastern side of Lake of the Arbuckles. It has four loops: Loop A is open seasonally. It has 21 campsites including 1 accessible site; all of these sites are first come, first served. Showers are available in the restrooms. The Point CampgroundThe Point Campground is located on the northern side of Lake of the Arbuckles. It is open year-round and has two loops. Rock Creek CampgroundThe Rock Creek Campground is open year-round. It has 99 campsites and 1 group site. The group site is available by reservation only; all other sites are first come, first served. All sites are non-electrical. Some sites can accommodate small RVs (25' or less). A dump station is located outside of the campground, near Bromide Pavilion. Cold Springs CampgroundCold Springs Campground is open seasonally. It has 63 campsites and 2 group sites. Sites are available by reservation only. All sites are non-electrical and are best for tent camping, though small RVs and pop-up campers (less than 20') may fit. Central CampgroundCentral Campground is open seasonally. There are ten group sites that are available by reservation only. Non-group sites are available at nearby Cold Springs Campground. Guy Sandy CampgroundGuy Sandy Campground is open seasonally. It is located on the west shore of Lake of the Arbuckles and contains 40 campsites. Facilities include water faucets and pit toilets. All sites are first come, first served. Guy Sandy is cash only. Please pay at the iron ranger at the campground entrance. |
