Fort Oglethorpe, GA: If you can’t find the time, or if you live too far way to bring your students to experience ranger-led education programs at Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, we now have an alternative for you. The park’s interpretation and resource education staff have recorded several virtual education programs to help facilitate student learning and have placed then on the park’s website for students (inquisitive adults are also welcome) to watch and to, hopefully, gain a better understanding of the park’s multi-layered history, including American Indians, the Civil War, and local geography.
We know it can be difficult to find the time, get permission, or simply be too far to bring your students to the park. It is our hope that you will find these education videos helpful and informative. Please visit https://www.nps.gov/chch/learn/photosmultimedia/virtualeducationvideos.htm to view or download these videos. They are also captioned and Audio Described for individuals needing these accommodations.
The videos you will find on the website are:
• Early American Indians
• Trail of Tears
• Causes of the Civil War
• The Civil War
• Reconstruction
• Geography
