In October 1863, the men of Parker’s Virginia Battery were encamped inside what is now Point Park on Lookout Mountain. Throughout the month, they traded fire with Union batteries on Moccasin Bend and observed the Battle of Wauhatchie in Lookout Valley, all the while looking to the mountains visible to the north and east, hopeful that maybe just one of those peaks was from back home in Virginia. Join us at Point Park as we explore the experiences of Parker’s Virginians who lived and fought here in the fall of 1863.
