On Saturday, September 28, and on Sunday, September 29, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will conduct Civilian Conservation Corps programs at Point Park, on Lookout Mountain. Living historians, portraying members of the CCC, will have displays set up in Point Park, and will conduct short presentations,  each lasting approximately 30 minutes, at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, and 3:30 pm on Saturday and at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm  and 2:30 pm on Sunday. Admission to Point Park is free on Saturday, September 28, for National Public Lands Day, yet on Sunday, admission returns to $7 per adult, ages 16 and over, youth, ages 15 and under, are free.

President Franklin Roosevelt transferred management of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park from the War Department to the National Park Service in 1933. During the early years of the NPS management, members of the CCC conducted tours of Point Park in addition to their work building trails, roads, and other improvements throughout the national military park. Celebrate National Public Lands Day this year by learning about the role that the CCC played in preserving and developing Point Park and Lookout Mountain.
