Meet Authors Matt Spruill and Dave Powell Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park

Fort Oglethorpe, GA: In partnership with the National Park Service, Eastern National would like to invite you to join us in commemorating the 156 th Anniversary of the Battle of Chickamauga. Authors Matt Spruill will be available September 13-15, 2019, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Dave Powell will be available September 21, 2019 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. for book signings inside the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Matt Spruill is the author of Guide to the Battle of Chickamauga, Storming the Heights; Guide to the Battle of Chattanooga, Winter Lightening: Guide to Stones River, as well as multiple titles in the Command Decisions Series. Spruill is a retired U.S. Army colonel and Civil War Historian. He has given lectures and served as a battlefield guide at Gettysburg.

Dave Powell is the author of The Chickamauga Campaign trilogy, Failure in the Saddle, The
Battle Above the Clouds, All Hell Can’t Stop Them, Command Decisions at Chickamauga, The Maps of Chickamauga
(limited availability) and other titles. Powell is a 1983 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute with a B.A. in History. He resides in Chicago where he works at CBS Messenger, a family business, and regularly leads tours at Chickamauga Battlefield.

Command Decisions in America’s Civil War: The 2019 release of the Command Decisions in America’s Civil War series adds a new layer of understanding for visitors who want to take a closer look at how decisions were being made and difficulties commanders faced that may or may not have changed their strategies. The series includes Second Manassas, Stones River, 1862 Kentucky Campaign, Chickamauga, Chattanooga, Atlanta Campaign, and forthcoming Gettysburg Second Edition.
