Fort Oglethorpe, GA: Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park announces that a $3.6 million construction contract has been awarded to Estes Brothers Construction, of Jonesville, VA, to rehabilitate Glenn-Kelly Road, Battleline Road, and Poe Road in Chickamauga Battlefield. The roads will be closed sequentially with no more than one road being closed at a time.
Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 14, with the closure of Glenn-Kelly Road between Chickamauga-Vittatoe and Dyer Roads. During the closures, all public traffic, including motorists, equestrians, pedestrians and bicyclists, is prohibited from using the closed sections. All work is scheduled to be complete by October 30, 2022.
