Fort Oglethorpe, GA: On Saturday, February 17, at 2 pm, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will conduct a 90-minute ranger-led car-caravan tour of Chickamauga Battlefield focusing on the stories of African Americans participants.
There are countless stories to be shared on Chickamauga Battlefield. Until recently, some of those stories have been buried and forgotten, especially those of African American participants. However, not only do they have stories associated with both sides of the conflict, but they risked life and limb working to seize their freedom and begin their struggle for Civil Rights. Join us for this special tour as we look at some of these overlooked stories.
Please remember to dress accordingly for the weather conditions.
