CEDAR CITY, Utah — State Route 148, the main road through Cedar Breaks National Monument, is scheduled to reopen to vehicles for the season on Friday, May 15, 2026. Visitors will once again be able to access the monument’s scenic overlooks and high-elevation landscapes as conditions allow.

Following the road’s reopening, visitors should be aware that spring conditions can vary. Trails may still be partially snow-covered, and access to some areas may be limited as snow continues to melt. Visitors are encouraged to check current conditions before traveling.

Cedar Breaks National Monument will begin its routine transition to full summer operations over the coming weeks. The Visitor Center, Zion Forever Project Park Store, and Human History Museum will reopen on May 22, 2026, and operate daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ranger-led programs are scheduled to begin June 1, and the Cedar Breaks Campground is scheduled to open June 19.
