CEDAR CITY, Utah – The National Park Service has selected Allana Olbrich to serve as the superintendent of Cedar Breaks National Monument. Olbrich will begin her new role on Sept. 20th, 2026.
Olbrich brings nearly two decades of National Park Service experience, including roles in leadership in administration, park operations, budget, and facilities management. She most recently served as the acting Superintendent for Bryce Canyon National Park and Colorado National Monument.
“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve as superintendent at Cedar Breaks National Monument. Its vibrant cliffs, beautiful wildflower meadows, and dark night skies are unlike anywhere else,” said Allana Olbrich, Cedar Breaks National Monument Superintendent. “I’m excited for the chance to serve and collaborate with NPS staff and local communities who are so committed to caring for this extraordinary park.”
“Since beginning her NPS career in 2009, Allana has served at six park sites across four regions, gaining a broad and versatile foundation in park operations and leadership,” said Intermountain Region Director Bert Frost. “Her breadth of experience and deep commitment to collaboration make her uniquely prepared to lead Cedar Breaks National Monument into its next chapter.”
In addition to her time as an acting superintendent, Olbrich has held roles in facility management at Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, administrative leadership at the Appalachian National Scenic Trail and Bryce Canyon National Park, and budget and financial program management at Cape Cod National Seashore. These experiences, combined with years of community engagement and collaboration, have provided her with deep insight into the many facets of park operations, resource stewardship, and partnership-building essential to serving at Cedar Breaks.
Olbrich earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern Utah University.
A native of Tennessee, Olbrich said she looks forward to moving to Cedar City to enjoy all the area has to offer with her husband, Jesse. Olbrich will relocate to Cedar City from Tropic, Utah.
