Catoctin Mountain Park announces temporary closures November 27-29, 2020

Due to increased security measures, portions of Catoctin Mountain Park will be closed at approximately 8 a.m. on Friday, November 27, 2020. Closures are scheduled to continue through approximately 8 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2020.

Park Central Road will be closed between the Thurmont Vista parking lot and the Camp Greentop entrance. Trails to Hog Rock Overlook and Blue Ridge Summit Vista will also be closed. All other trails will remain open.

Parking lots at the visitor center will be open but may fill up early in the day. Additional parking is available on the west side of the park at Owens Creek Picnic Area, Camp Round Meadow, and Chestnut Picnic Area. Trail maps are available at those locations, and restrooms are available at the Owens Creek Picnic Area.
