Catoctin Mountain Park Announces Temporary Closures January 5-7 2018

THURMONT, Md. – Due to increased security measures, portions of Catoctin Mountain Park will be closed effective 12:30 p.m. on Friday, January 5. Closures are scheduled to continue through approximately 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2018.

Park Central Road will be closed between the Visitor Center and Camp Greentop. Reservations for Poplar Grove and Camp Round Meadow will be honored.

Hikers may access trails to Thurmont Vista, Wolf Rock, and Chimney Rock as well as the Falls Nature Trail from the Visitor Center trailheads. The Catoctin National Recreation Trail will be open. Trails to Blue Ridge Summit Overlook and Hog Rock will not be available during this closure.
