Junior Ranger Let's Go Fishing! Activity Booklet and Badge

Are you ready to earn your Junior Ranger Angler badge?

Follow these easy steps:

  1. Download the booklet or stop by the Visitor Center to pick up the free booklet.
  2. Complete as many activities in the book as you can and return to the Visitor Center and discuss what you have learned with a ranger.


Have a parent/guardian take a picture of a completed page in the booklet and e-mail us. Remember to include your name and address.

Catoctin Mountain Park offers a variety of opportunities for kids to explore. There are several short nature trails, scheduled programs such as evening campfire programs and programs just for kids staying at Camp Misty Mount.

Annual 4th Grade Pass

  • Available to U.S. 4th graders (including home-schooled and free-choice learners 10 years of age) with a valid Every Kid Outdoor paper pass.
  • The pass is valid for the duration of the 4th grade school year through the following summer (September-August).
  • Paper passes can be obtained by visiting the Every Kid Outdoors website and can be exchanged for the Annual 4th Grade Pass at Federal recreation sites that charge Entrance or Standard Amenity fees (Day Use Fee).
  • Digital version of the paper pass (such as on smart phones or tablets) will not be accepted to exchange for an Annual 4th Grade Pass.
  • The pass is non-transferable.
