Carl Sandburg Home NHS Announces Cancellation of Annual Folk Music Festival and Summer Plays

Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site is announcing additional modifications to operations.  The 2020 Folk Music Festival, scheduled for May 25, has been cancelled.  Additionally, the 2020 summer season of Sandburg Home plays presented in the park by the Flat Rock Playhouse Apprentices has been cancelled. 

The health and safety of our visitors, employees, volunteers, and partners at Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site is our number one priority. The National Park Service (NPS) is working servicewide with federal, state, and local authorities to closely monitor the COVID-19 pandemic. The public is reminded that Carl Sandburg Home NHS is completely closed to all park visitors, until further notice. The closure includes the house, barn and barnyard, all grounds, trails, parking lots, restrooms, and other structures. We will notify the public when we resume full operations and will continue to provide park updates on our website, www.nps.gov/carl and Facebook.
