Public Comment Period Extended for Proposed House Tour Fees at Carl Sandburg Home NHS

Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site has extended the public comment period for proposed house tour fee increases through August 17, 2019. The extended comment period is related to the new online reservation system, recreation.gov. Use of recreation.gov requires a $1 online processing fee for every ticket reserved online. This means children’s tickets, reserved online, will incur a $1 online processing fee. However, in-person, day-of, walk-up child tickets will remain completely free of charge. The park learned of the $1 online processing fee for free child tickets after the initial comment period began on July 1, and extended the deadline to allow time for additional comments.

A public meeting will be held at the park on Saturday, July 20, from 9:30-10:30 am. This meeting will be held in the park amphitheater. https://www.nps.gov/carl/learn/news/comment-period-extended.htm
