National Archives and Records Administration

Fortunately for us today, there were more than 40 photographic images made inside Camp Nelson during the Civil War. Today, some of those images are housed at the National Archives and others at the University of Kentucky Archives. You can see many of those images throughout this website, including one here that shows ambulances and warehouses that were located in the heart of the park. Though Camp Nelson National Monument is a relatively new unit of the National Park Service, we will be developing photo albums of historic and modern images of Camp Nelson and also a wide range of interviews and short videos.
