Park trails are a mixture of a short asphalt patch, gravel, and primarily grass.Grade Level - Elementary to High School Duration - 60 minutes Hike Length - Adjustable Accessible - Small Portion, Not Fully Museum Scavenger HuntStudents break into small groups of 2-3 and work to complete a Camp Nelson museum scavenger hunt. This activity takes students through each of the museum exhibits starting with the beginning of the Civil War and ending at modern times. This activity includes the park's 17-minute orientation film which includes subtitles.Grade Level- Middle to High School, can be adjusted for Elementary Duration - 30 minutes Accessible - Yes - mobility and hearing A Flag of Their OwnRangers will introduce students to the history of Regimental Flags during the Civil War and discuss the various roles that flags, art, identity, and language played at the time. After a brief presentation, students will break into groups and create a regimental flag of their own!
