Commercial fishing permits for Cape Hatteras National Seashore are annual permits that expire every year on October 1st.
Permit renewal requests can be submitted after September 15th.

email us at CAHA_ORV_Permits@nps.gov with the following information included:
- Both sides of the commercial fishing license;
- The front of your North Carolina driver's license, and;
- Your current mailing address.

CFR 36 § 7.58 (b) (3) allows for commercial fishing from seashore beaches under the following conditions:
- You must be a legal resident of an established village (Corolla, Duck, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Colington, Nags Head, Manteo, Wanchese, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, Buxton, Frisco, Hatteras, Ocracoke).
- You must possess a current North Carolina commercial fishing license (individually or with another person or group).
- The permit shall be carried at all times while engaged in commercial fishing and shall be displayed upon request.
