During this year's National Park Week, April 19-27, Superintendent Barclay Trimble invites the public to experience their national parks across the country, and those here on the Outer Banks—Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, and Wright Brothers National Memorial. Special programs will be offered during National Park Week, and Wright Brothers National Memorial will further celebrate with fee-free days April 19 and 20.

"There are experience for everyone at all three Outer Banks parks," stated Superintendent Trimble, "whether you seek peaceful relaxation, intellectual stimulation, natural or cultural exploration, or active recreation."

National parks preserve majestic natural wonders, valued sites, and artifacts of our American culture; and offer recreation and discovery in some of the most unique areas of our country's landscape. During National Park Week, learn how our world was changed by two brothers at Wright Brothers National Memorial, enjoy the natural beauty of ocean and soundside beaches along Cape Hatteras National Seashore, and explore where Algonquian and English cultures met for the first time at Fort Raleigh National Historic Site.
