Night driving restrictions will be lifted at many designated ORV ramps starting at 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15. To find out which ramps will no longer have night driving restrictions, and which ramps will still have opening and closing times due to sea turtle nests, visit http://go.nps.gov/beachaccess, any time after 12 p.m. tomorrow, Sept. 15.
24 hour a day beach driving is expected to open starting Thursday, Sept. 15 at 9 p.m. at most priority ramps including ramps 2, 4, 25, 27, 44 (south), 48, 49, and 72 (south).
As more sea turtle nests are laid this season, night driving restrictions may need to be reimplemented at certain ramps, so take a look at the Cape Hatteras beach access webpage before heading to the beach each night.
