Casa Grande Ruins National Monument, along with all other National Park sites, will honor U.S. military veterans and current members of the U.S. armed forces with free admission on Wednesday, November 11. In addition, Casa Grande Ruins will host four guided tours on that day—at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. “I hope that service members and veterans take advantage of the free admission and spend part of Veterans Day 2009 at Casa Grande Ruins National Monument or another national park, some of America’s most fascinating and beautiful national treasures that they have helped to preserve with their service, ” said Casa Grande Ruins Superintendent Karl Cordova.
Beginning on Wednesday, November 11 all U.S. military veterans and current members of the U.S. armed forces and their families will be admitted free-of-charge on Veterans Day to public lands managed by both the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture. This annual fee free day will be in addition to National Public Lands Day in September, the other annual fee-free day. Unlike National Public Lands Day, which is always on a Saturday, the Veterans Day waiver will apply on November 11, regardless of the day of the week. |
