WELLFLEET, Mass.– Beginning Monday, March 11, the Pilgrim Heights parking area and access roadways in North Truro will be temporarily closed to the public to allow for repaving and survey work. The closure is expected to last through April 20, 2024. Both pedestrian and vehicle access to Pilgrim Heights will be inaccessible during this time. 24-hour vehicle and pedestrian closures will be in place from Route 6, as well as from the trail connections to Head of the Meadow Bike trail via the Small’s Swamp trail and the Pilgrim Spring trail.

The closure is required for reconfiguration of traffic flow and to repave the parking area and access roads at Pilgrim Heights. There will be paving work, tree removal and pruning, and survey work completed as part of this project.

The work is being performed by Classic Site Solutions, Inc. from Wilbraham, Massachusetts. Classic Site Solutions has completed several other seashore projects, including the Herring Cove bath house and beach facilities project, the rehabilitation of the Nauset and Province Lands bike trails, and the Province Lands Visitor Center rehabilitation project.

The work and repaving is weather dependent, and rain can cause delays. To check the status of the work, please visit the park’s website or social media pages.
