WELLFLEET, Mass. – In October of 2018 the National Park Service (NPS) announced a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the lease of the Nauset Knoll Motor Lodge within Cape Cod National Seashore.  The due date for the receipt of proposals has been extended until February 20, 2019, and the NPS has also determined the minimum rent for the property.

This RFP provides the opportunity for interested individuals and organizations to submit proposals to the NPS to lease the property, which has historically been used as a motor lodge. However, the RFP allows to the NPS to consider different and perhaps expanded use of the property. Potential uses include, but are not limited to: municipal services, office space, an entertainment or event venue, research or educational space, a restaurant, or any combination of those services and facilities.  “We want to encourage the local community and entrepreneurs to take a look at the property and be creative in their proposals to help us find the best use for this property going into the future,” said Brian Carlstrom, superintendent of Cape Cod National Seashore.

Located on the lower end of the peninsula of Cape Cod, the property overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and Nauset Beach.  It currently consists of a twelve-unit motor lodge in three, one-story frame buildings connected by open canopies.

The full Request for Proposals posting is available on the FedBizOpps website.

Additional questions and answers about the RFP and property can be found on our website.

Please see the RFP for the required information needed for the submittal.  All submittals must be received at Cape Cod National Seashore Headquarters, 99 Marconi Site Road, Wellfleet, MA 02667, no later than 4:30 pm ET on February 20, 2019, in order to be evaluated and considered.
