SERVICE ANIMALS

Service animals are allowed in national parks. For a definition of a service animal, please see the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) definition. Companion dogs that are used only to provide comfort or emotional support (“therapy animals”), or other pets are not allowed in buildings, on trails or the backcountry.

If you bring your service animal to the park, please:

  • Keep all service animals under the control (harnessed, leashed, tethered, through voice, signal, or other effective controls).

  • Clean up after your service animal and dispose of waste properly.

  • Do not leave service animals inside vehicle with windows rolled up during the summer months.
