ACCESS PASS

The America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Access Pass—or simply, the Access Pass —is available to U.S. citizens or permanent residents of any age that have a permanent disability. Visit the site to learn more about this pass and other entrance passes that are available.

PARK ACCESSIBILITY

  • The Welcome Center and restrooms are wheelchair accessible.
  • A wheelchair is available for loan at the visitor center at no cost.
  • There are accessible parking spaces in the Welcome Center parking lot.
  • Backcountry trails are not wheelchair accessible.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY

Please be aware there are several overlooks on the rim drives that are wheelchair accessible.

  • Massacre Cave Overlook on the North Rim
  • Tsegi Overlook on the South Rim
  • Junction Overlook on the South Rim
  • Spider Rock Overlook on the South Rim
 

SERVICE ANIMALS

Service animals are allowed in national parks. For a definition of a service animal, please see the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) definition. Companion dogs that are used only to provide comfort or emotional support (“therapy animals”), or other pets are not allowed in buildings, on trails or the backcountry.

If you bring your service animal to the park, please:

  • Keep all service animals under the control (harnessed, leashed, tethered, through voice, signal, or other effective controls).

  • Clean up after your service animal and dispose of waste properly.

  • Do not leave service animals inside vehicle with windows rolled up during the summer months.
