Visitor Center Parking Lots in Upper Monument

Speed limit is 15mph in the upper portion of the monument. Please watch for pedestrians and bicyclists throughout the park.

This small parking area is the first lot after you enter the park. There is one accessible spot. From this location you get a view of the Pacific Ocean. This is also the closest lot to the Military Museum.

Visitor Center Parking

This is the main parking area for Cabrillo. From this parking lot (which has three sections, north, middle and south), you can access everything except the tidepools and Coastal Trail. You can hike down the Oceanside Trail to access the Coastal area, or drive down to additional limited parking.

There are specific areas for bus and rv parking in the middle section. Accessible parking is available in the north section.

Please note traffic in these sections is one way.

Lighthouse Parking

Parking at the lighthouse is limited to three accessible parking spots behind the lighthouse. If you do not have an accessible parking pass, you can talk to a ranger and get a temporary one at the Visitor Center.

To get to these parking spots, turn right at the sign for authorized vehicles only. Continue up to the right and go past the lighthouse.

Tidepools Parking Lot 1

Tidepools Parking Lot 1

This is the parking lot along the Coastal Trail at the Tidepools. This is the closest parking lot to the tidepools entrance. Parking is limited. There are two accessible parking spots at this location. There are two other parking lots further along Gatchell Road.

If the parking lots are full along the Coastal Trail, you can park up top in the Visitor Center parking lot and hike down the Oceanside Trail to access the Coastal area.

This is the parking lot along the Coastal Trail at the Tidepools. This is the second closest parking lot to the tidepools entrance. Parking is limited. There is one accessible parking spot at this location. There are two other parking lots along Gatchell Road.

If the parking lots are full along the Coastal Trail, you can park up top in the Visitor Center parking lot and hike down the Oceanside Trail to access the Coastal area.
