Park Management Structure at Cabrillo National Monument
To effectively administer Cabrillo National Monument and care for its visitors and resources, the management of the park is shared by a Park Superintendent and five distinct Divisions. Each Division is headed by a Division Chief responsible for different elements of park operations.

Administration

This Division includes the Administrative Officer and Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Officer oversees budget and human resources, while the Administrative Assistant handles support duties such as receptionist, payroll, staff assistance, travel, and office management.
Visitor and Resource Protection (VRP)

Directed by the Visitor Resource Protection Supervisor Park Ranger, this Division ensures visitor safety and enforces park regulations. It also manages the fee collection program and administers Special Use Permits. The VRP team includes three law enforcement Park Rangers and three to four Visitor Use Assistants. Interpretation and Education (I&E)

Headed by the Visitor Services Program Manager and supported by three Park Rangers, the I&E Division presents educational field trips, conducts walks and talks, performs living history demonstrations, and operates the Visitor Center. The team also includes a Historian who ensures the accuracy of park information and a Museum Technician who cares for the park's artifact collection.
Facility Management (FM)

Directed by the Facility Management Program Manager and supported by a Work Leader, Maintenance Worker, Custodial Worker, and Laborer, this Division maintains historic and contemporary park buildings, facilities, and grounds. Responsibilities include regular maintenance, historic preservation projects, repair/rehabilitation projects, and custodial operations.
Natural Resource Management and Science (NRM&S)

This Division conducts scientific research on terrestrial and intertidal species within the park and advises management on their status and protection.
