Managing Cabrillo National MonumentManaging a National Park is a team effort, with many staff members playing key roles in preserving and protecting the park's visitors, cultural heritage, and natural resources. Park partners are also instrumental in providing that care. At any given time, park management faces a multitude of issues, including planning, budgeting, laws, and policies. Park management today is vastly different from the early days of the National Park Service, when a Superintendent might also be seen atop a saddle, performing backcountry patrol duties. Modern park management involves complex coordination and collaboration to address the diverse needs and challenges of the park.
